CIPS in Newfoundland and Labrador is set to enter an new era!
On May 16, 2008 the Canadian Information Processing Society of Newfoundland and Labrador was incorporated. Shortly after this momentous occation, on June 5, 2008, the first AGM for CIPS NL took place.
At this meeting, a new set of bylaws were enacted and the first Board of Directors was elected:
- Will Gough, I.S.P. became President and CCITP Representative
- Don Duffie, I.S.P. became Vice President and Co-chair of the Marketing Committee
- Grant Dwyer, I.S.P. bacame Treasurer, Membership Committee Representative
- Cheryl Lundrigan, became Secretary, Marketing Committee Representative
The creation of CIPS NL is a proud day for IT proffesionals in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The entity that is CIPS NL represents and serve IT practitions from across the province. This single organization, in CIPS NL, consolidates the benefits of both section activities and provincial body responsbilities into one efficient body.
The board of CIPS NL, on behalf of the membership, would like to take this oppertunity to also thank all those who were involved in creating and maintaining the CIPS Viking organization throughout the years. The spirit of the CIPS Viking section will be carried on by CIPS NL... the bylaw cut and paste have made it so!
